2. I show her websites that list the signs of when a baby is ready... I show her websites that say closer to the age of 3 is when they START to be potty trained. She just yells "THEY'RE WRONG. THEY'RE ALL WRONG. BABIES SHOULD BE POTTY TRAINED BY 2!"

Some babies are pottytrained by 16 or 18 months maybe MIL got lucky with those numbers.  Our ped says that we don't worry about them not being potty trained until 4.  My kids were potty trained DD 2.5 DS 3.5.  Every kid does it in their own time!

My DH would disagree with you.

He had me read the article above last night. Our DD will be 2 in March. She shows signs of being ready to train, but she doesn't want to sit on the toilet. DH thinks I need to do it.

tell her you will potty train when you feel it's time, if she wants your child to be potty trained by 2 then she can do that herself.

God I wish. She keeps pressuring me to potty train him when he's obviously not ready, just like when she tried to pressure me into putting cereal in his bottle when he was 1mo old

Starting at 3 is really late. Kids who go into pre-k at 3 already have to be potty trained.

Just be glad she's not in charge of potty training your children. My son was 3 when he was potty trained, I knew he was ready because he could stay dry all night and use the potty first thing in the morning.
