It was fine when DH was busy at work but for the last three months it has been super slow. So for the New Year my resolution was to figure out a plan to become debt free.

When I sat down to do the numbers we are $90,000 in CC and loan debt ...not including our mortgage...that is $380,000. FUCK!

I hope he guys busy again soon. The plan is to start with the smallest debts first and pay them off and then snowball it from there, but if he doesn't get busy at work again we are SCREWED.

anyone else been there? Any advice?

UPDATE: so far we have paid off $15,000 in CC debt. We are using the "Snowball" system and should be debt free in 18 months if everything goes according to plan.

No advice, I just wish I could afford to be 90,000 in cc debt. All my credit limits commbined don't equal 1/2 that.

CC's are $47,000 and the car loan is the rest.

the point is, I don't think we can afford it either :( three months ago yes, but not right now.

Yikes I thought we were bad and all we have is 315k left on the house and what's left of the car payments. Time to buckle down.

I passed that point about 3 years ago. We fell on some very hard times. Now I pay what I need to and the rest just sits there. I don't recommend it but sometimes you do what you need to.

Stuff like this is why I've never wanted to own my own home. I can't do the mortgage debt for the rest of my life. :-/ I'm blessed to be inheriting a home.

What kind of car do you drive that's almost $45,000? Holy moly lol. We have two cc debts ad some loans and a car payment that will be paid off in the next year. We don't make much so we'll be getting a nice tax refund, and we plan to use it all to pay off our cc and loans, and at least $1,000 on the car so that we can pay it off in time to go back stateside(we need another car when we get back so its important to pay it off).
