Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or suggestions?
He's 3. He still shows signs of needing naps, but definitely shorter naps than at two. Some signs that tell me he's not ready to give them up altogether: He gets irritable if he goes too long without naps, becomes less obedient, shows less self-control, and has a more difficult time focusing. All of this is only when he goes too long without a nap. He can sleep for about an hour and be fine, though. He just really has a hard time staying in bed. I'd love a few tips.
He does stay in his room. Should I just leave it? Like, if he needs a nap he'll go to sleep, and if he doesn't, he won't? Or is it important to teach him the discipline to stay in bed? As it stands right now, he gets disciplined if he gets out of bed to play.
Should I try a nap every other day or is the every day routine important?
This is my only child. It's not the biggest deal in the world (though I'm sure it will be proof positive to some people that I'm somehow the world's worst mother lol), I would just like a suggestion or two.
