I hope the EIC tax credit goes away

For people who don't pay taxes! I'm sick of paying so much in taxes and getting crap back, yet lazy people who live off welfare get money! You shouldn't get more then you pay, how is that a REFUND? A refund would imply you paid into it. I hate seeing people bragging on here about getting $10k tax "refunds" when they pay zero into it, that's bs and why our country is in debt.

I usually get a refund. But I work full time and have extra withheld. I usually only get back 2K. I am low income and have a dependent. I don't see how people in the same situation get back so so much more.

I have to admit though, I am jealous of those who get a refund. Who wouldnt want to have a winfall of money once a year?? hell yeah I am jealous! But I also know there are income guidelines to get it ao I am not jealous of that part....just the concept of getting so much back annually!

I've never gotten 10k back the most we were got was 7K and my DH paid in ALOT to get that back

I agree that it needs to go away or at the very least be greatly downsized.  It isn't fair and lest anyone forgot, our country is already in debt!!!
