My birthday will be here in a few days and I won't be getting anything. Ill be lucky if anyone notices it. I haven't got any gift/cards for my bday or Xmas or Mother's Day or anything really in a long time like years. And to top it off I have to find the money to renew my dl by then. (Didn't know it was expiring till I got the notice in the mail today). Yeah me. I feel guilty for bi+Ching about it cus I feel selfish.

I'm sorry you probably won't get anything for your birthday. It stings a little when nobody even notices. I don't think you're selfish. To be honest, I'd probably be a little hurt if I was in your shoes. *hugs* I hope at very least you'll get a phone call, or someone will come to your place to visit.

Yes, well, welcome to the adult world. When I worked, people expected me to bring in treats for them on MY birthday.

It isn't selfish that you want people to show they care. I think we all want know that people care about us. If your child or children are old enough there is nothing wrong with teaching them to acknowledge your birthday. I told my 8 year old that I'd love for him to make me a card. He happily did.

 oh thats okay  my husband said he was getting me a christmas gift an I never got it an yes I am mad. I wouldnt be mad if he hadnt said he was getting me something an I never got it :O)

Same here. I always hate it. My dh is sweet but i feel.like i put all this effort into everyone else and never gey anything in return. Its kinda sucky. I hope someone surprises you. :)

I drop the kids off at Barmes and Noble with a $20 and tell them to go get me a present and get it wrapped while I wait in the car, lol. Then I act super surprised and excited.
