Why did you use a non-traditional spelling for your kid's name?
This is sort of a S/O of my other name post. I saw a lot of interesting spelling names in there lol.
So why did you give your kid a different spelling? The name still sounds the same when read aloud, right? It's doesn't really change the way the name sounds.
That being said, I gave both of my girls traditional spellings for their names (Addison and Allison) but I gave Allison the middle name Rae. I spelled it that way for two reasons. One reason being that Rae in itself is a masculine name. I think the E makes it look more feminine. The second reason being that Ray doesn't really look like a real name to me. It seems like a nick name for Raymond lol
What's your reasoning?
my middle name is rae. i think that's a pretty traditional way to spell the feminized version.
My youngest is Adysen. I just like the look of an "odd" spelling. Plus I love unusual names but DH likes traditional names. So having funky spellings or uncommon names was our compromise.
