Do I really have to wear a dress

Yes, you need to get a dress.  I recommend a simple black dress that way it will never go out of style and you can wear it for years on end.

This is the top. I promise it looks fancier in person. My fiancé wrinkle his nose up at it based on the picture but then when it actually came in he said that it looks a lot nicer in person.

I'd say probably you would, sorry :/ I personally loove dresses so I can't really relate much but my advice would be to just find a dress you feel comfortable in and looks good, and remember its only for a night! :)

IMO, that looks too casual for an event that requires cocktail attire.

I think the slacks and blouse will be just fine
