Gah, that was a mess. I feel bad for her because she's mentally ill and refuses to admit her part in the child's removal, but I feel even more bad for that baby. I generally am against how foster care runs and most adoptions, but this case, the child truly is in need of a good home. Her mother is in no way, shape or form capable of caring for her and is refusing to take the steps to do so.
She is nuts. My cousin married a guy whose ex wife was a schitzophrenic. She tried to drown herself and her 2 kids. In order for her to have visitation with her kids-she had to move in with her parents and submit to drug testing to ensure she was medicated. In her defense it's been 20 years since then and she has never failed a drug test-although she still needs to live with her parents.....
Unmedicated schitzophrenics are a danger to themselves and their children.
