A little piece of me died today.

My 9 yr old ds LOVES to cuddle at home. He tells me "I love you" a million times a day.
Today when I got to school to pick my kids up he sees me and immediately his face lights up. He starts running towards me like he's gonna hug me and all of a sudden he seems like he just "snaps" into reality that he's at school and decides not to run up and hug me. I go to hug him and he pulls away! :(((
My little baby is growing up!... And is embarrassed to hug me in front of his friends. I never wanna experience that sadness again but I know it's just the beginning of many disappointing moments- :( so sad.

I remember that day! Now I'm lucky to get a quick peck before he leaves for the bus stop. I still kissed my own mom everyday as she dropped us off at high school

Be glad he made it to 9. Mine started getting embarrassed in first grade

:(  My 10 year old ds, 8 year old ds and 7 year old ds won't hug me in public now :( I know it is just a matter of time before my 6 year old stops.
They still cuddle with me at home...they have no choice!

I feel your pain. You had a good long run though! My almost 8 year old stopped hugging, kissing or even saying I love you at school when he was around 5!
