Does this seem odd to you?

Yesterday, my boys were talking about a boy at school.  The 7 year old was trying to describe the boy to the 9 year old.  No big deal.  Anyway, the 7 year old said, "Yeah, he took me to the bathroom at breakfast."  My husband and I looked at each other, and he said, "Wait a minute.  Back up.  Are you talking about a teacher?"  7 year old said, "No, another student."  So, then the 9 year old said, "4th and 5th graders take kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders to the bathroom if they need to go at breakfast.  The teachers don't."  My husband and I continued to look at each other.  I said, "Seems kind of odd."  We let it drop and nothing else has been said.

Does it seem kind of odd to you?  What would you think about this situation?  Would you do anything about it?

Yeah that does seem kind of odd but it's nothing I would make a big deal about.

That's what I'm thinking, not making a big deal out of it.

But I've been thinking about it since I replied and I'm sure this is the case but they better only be allowing boys to take boys and girls to take girl's.

My dd's school just started doing this at lunch time. But it's more of being a monitor than actually taking them. The forth and fifth graders have like 5 min shifts just to monitor the bathrooms to make sure nothing bad is happening.

not odd. My SD school did that. It's teaching the older ones some responsibility and helping the teachers out. In her school the older ones even walked the younger ones from the classroom to the office, nurse, where ever they needed to go.

Yeah, that's the first thing we made sure of.

Kinda odd.   I can understand taking the first graders...... Why would a 4th grader take a 3rd grader to the bathroom?

I don't think it's odd.

I would call the school to see what's up.
