If twins run your family you have a higher chance of having twins yourself but it doesn't necessarily mean you will for sure have twins

It's a possibility, but not an absolute guarantee.

Twins are more prevelent if there is a genetic history of them, but no, it does not mean you WILL have twins. Your chances are simply better.

Not necessarily. It does run in your blood so it can happen. My grandma had twins (my two uncles) and the only other person in my family that has had twins was my brother and sister-in-law miscarried 2-3 sets of twins.

I'm a twin and when I got pregnant, the ultrasound said I was supposed to have twins. But one of them didn't carry to term.

I have identical twins. I was told by Gyno that they are hereditary thru maternal side only!!!! Nothing to do with the dad & his genes.

Higher chance, but not a definite.

Is she a fraternal twin or an identical twin?  I have heard that everybody has the same odds for identical twins because its an embryo that splits into two babies.  And then people with fraternal twins in their maternal family side have an increased chance for having fraternal twins because the ability to release two eggs to be fertilized is a genetic trait passed from mother to daughter.  IDK how much scientific evidence there is to support this its just something I read.
