Germs

So we are leaving for Disney World in 5 days and ds 8 woke up with a bit of a cough today.  Damn it.  Not now.  My fingers are crossed that it turns into nothing else.

Anyway I was supposed to meet a friend at the library for playtime with dd 4, they have a great play area, but I cancelled because I did not want to expose dd to extra germs.

I told dh that and he said he was going to get Hazmat suits for me.  LOL.  Bring 'em on I said.  Anything to keep us healthy.

He obviously thinks I am going overboard.  Too much?

germs have been here for lifetimes before us. and they will be here for lifetimes after us.

might as well get used to them.

i seem to recall SOMETHING that is supposed to help....

OH YEAH an IMMUNE system.

that incidentally CANT build up and strengthen if you sanitize everything.

but you go ahead and do what ever you like :)

The hazmat suits are a joke.  I would never do that.  I'm just trying to limit their exposure.  Her playing at a play area that lots of other kids are using, is just smart when there is sickness everywhere.

Honestly i would just stick to the classics. let her play. let her enjoy her self.

at the end of the play time, wash hands. use some sanitizer if you really want to.

take a bath at the end of the day, and then do it again tomorrow.

sorry i was so snarky before btw. i seriously thought you were just trolling lol.

That's ok.  I reread it and it did sound kinda crazy.  Lol.  She thankfully is happy here.

No, not too much. I've been grounded by a doctor before. It sucks. :(

i would do the same thing. I don't let my kids play in places like that. I have a problem though and i can admit it. I hate germs and am way too paranoid. I sanitize my house everyday. It may be due to my very very weak immune system and growing up i was always sick. Now when i get sick from a simple cold i can't move and well i have three kids so i have to beable to take care of them.
