Anyone recovering from a relationship with a narcissist?

I'm talking about real, diagnosed NPD. Not just a guy who's a selfish jerk.
Or, if not diagnosed, could be if they ever actually thought that had a problem.


Tell me your story. Have you recovered? Did you make the same mistake twice?

I think many go undiagnosed because they don't go into treatement because it isn't their problem.  Soooo, having said that, I do believe my father would be diagnosed if he actually went to see a doctor and was honest during the evaluation - never gonna happen.

My mother finally got rid of him and did recover.  She remarried a wonderful man.  She is not one to make the same mistake twice.  The kids (myself included) also recovered.  None of us have anything to do with him anymore since it is impossible to have a real relationship with someone like that.

Yes, the denial and blaming others is a vicious cycle.
