I don't entirely degree. Yes, kids are better at different things, but EVERYONE should learn basic reading and math skills. If you are a great musician or great artist, that's nice and all, but you still need to learn how to read.

lol, I do know HOW to proofread (it is ONE word by the way...) but sometimes I have better things to do than nitpick other people about their grammar... like paying attention to my DS who was asking for something.

I wouldn't say it was the WORST... there should be some accountability and standards. I think some parts just needed rethinking... But I know I don't have a one-size fits all solution to educate every kid...
