Shove whatever word you want there, arguing semantics is boring, I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I meant!

Look up the word devout. They don't have to have the "right" perception of a religion to be devout! So your statement is still flawed.

100% disagree. I've seen some real religious hypocritical assholes.

Same here.
We don't have religion in our home but my kids are well mannered and know right from wrong.

Quoting wumbo:

BIG FAT DISAGREE! Nobody needs religion to know right from wrong.

I disagree. Morals aren't limited to religions. Morals should also be taught by parents and or caregivers during childhood.

A person can claim to be a devout member of a religion without actually being a devout member.  I was referring to actual devout members of a religion that follow their religion's teachings and behave accordingly.

Not necessarily, but there is a certain amount of morality and behavior that follows a devout follower of a religion.  For instance when you know your grandmother is watching, most people curb their behavior....I think it's the same for God!

like those terrorists? Or KKK members? Ann Coulter? Patt Robertson? It has nothing to do with being a devout follower of religion, it's all about who you are as a person.

I find religious injunctions against homosexuals to be immoral.

In my world, this means the devout follower follows immoral teaching.

People have morals and values or they don't.  Religion, IMO, is irrelevant to the question.

Same here .
I'd rather be an open sinner than a fake hypocritical Christian.

Quoting Mamabear010:

I disagree. I've come across more immoral "Christians" than i have atheist.
