My son has the flu. Around 6:30pm his temp was 101.5 have him ibphrophen them 3 hours later he was moaning in pain so I gave him some tylenol. Took his temp at 11:30 orally and got 96.5 took it again 10 mins later orally got 96.6 then took it rectally and got 97.2. I read online that orally temp has to be over 96.8 and rectally over 97.......does anyone know if this is correct?

Your body temperature is too low if it is below 95 degrees in fahrenheit. This is considered life threatening. If your temperature gets below 95 degrees in fahrenheit you need to see a doctor immediately for rewarming.

My ds's "normal" temp is around 96, and his pediatrician likes me to keep an eye on it bc it's low.
