Do I need the fathers permission to place my baby for adoption?

I want to do what's best for my baby. We live in poverty and I don't want to raise a baby this way. But the father won't consent. What do I do?

Yes absolutely

And by not getting it, you risk him coming back and fighting for custody.

Not fair to the baby, or adoptive parents.

If he does not consent you can't put the baby up.  You can try to sign your rights off to him, but what good would that do?

He can't support this baby anymore than I can. How does he think he's gonna raise this baby? He's being so selfish.

Bull.

You must have permission, even if its a mommy state.

That father can fight and legally leave with the baby as he can come to the hospital and request DNA before baby is let go.

Quoting Rhyinns.Mommy:

dont put him on the birthcertificate, deny its his. based on where you live it may not matter. Arizona is a mothers state (meaning if mom says it, it goes, no matter how hard dad fights usually)
