Does anyone sing more than just lullabies to their young kids?
I do. She's two right now. I sing her Bob Marley and Red Hot Chili Peppers..Blue on Black.. whatever country song I've heard recently.. basically whatever pops into my head. Always have. Bob Marley saved us during her colic days. I changed the words to "No Woman, No Cry".. "Do you remember all the good poops you've had? And the pacifiers thrown in parking lots? Good toys you've had, good toys you've lost..along the way.." lol You should see the looks people gave me back then. But hey, I would think they'd rather hear that than her crying. She always has cried like a ten year old's voice box was switched with her newborn one. Most pissed off ten year old you've ever heard.
But anyways, I was thinking about it, probably because I'm on youtube listening to RHCP right now, and this is what my mom did with me, too. She did different songs of course. Songs of her old ass era. heh heh heh I should tell her I just said that.
what about you, ladies? Just curious.
sang Beatles songs to Thing One before we even left the hospital.
I used to sing him his own version of the Parliment Song
Tear the top off you mother tear the top off your mother
we want the milk/give up the milk/ we want the milk/gotta have the milk.
he also liked Jungle Boogie when he was a baby.
15 month old DD is fond of Lady Gaga and Shake your booty.
They will remember, though. And do the same with their children, I bet. They are warm memories.
Quoting BEXi:
I used to sing The Beatles, Elton John, John Lennon, Bob Marley...
They dont let me anymore :'( I cant say I blame them lmao
