^^^ the last guy (I'm not going to add all the comments) is ridiculous. People tell him to call CPS not the police and he just call at them a douche bag.

Are you from Regina?
How did he stop traffic? Did he put up a road block or just stop his cruiser and walk the lady across the street. It's not an abuse of power because anyone could stop a car and walk the lady across the street.

Police are there to protect and serve the public. Everyone in that situation was protected. He did the right thing.

did this intersection not have traffic control devices.. I have a light ontop of my car, but like the police, I have only certian times that I can turn it on...

abuse might not be the right word.... but he could have handled it differently and if that intersection is so dangerous the city needs to look at making it safer.

Quoting zoo003:

If he was in the middle of the road, then he was blocking traffic so that no one would run over the grandma.  If he was just pulled over and assisted her across the street, then cars may not have stopped.  I am not saying that this what happened, but even if he was in the middle of the road, I still don't think it was an abuse of power.

Quoting darcibeisheim:

in the middle of the road, it was an abuse of his power, no matter how good of a deed.. he could have easily pulled off the roadway and assisted her across the street safely.

Quoting Retrokitty:

I think it was in the middle of the road but I don't know.

Quoting darcibeisheim:

it depends... was his car off the side of the road? if it was.. he was fine..
