Help me name my daughter..ETA

My grampa was 79 years young and passed away Tuesday. He has been excited the past 23 weeks to know I'm having his 6th great granddaughter. I had my heart set on Iris for a first name...but grampas middle name was Lee Roy, so I'm now wanting to use Lee as the middle name.. but Iris Lee just doesn't sound right...

How is that pronounced? If it sounds like it's spelled (Me-lahm) then, I would use that as a middle name. Iris Milam Braswell. Very strong, very unique.

Iris is beautiful - but I understand the family name.   If we hadn't had wound up with 1 boy and 1 girl, her middle name would have been my maiden name.   Before we evev got married that was a given.   I always expected to give my maiden name to my son - but my DH has a family middle name and he was adamant.   I gave in for deal breaker rights on every single subsequent name.

Margaret Lee would have been our 2nd daughter's name (had we had one)  Maggie.

His mom is Nancy Lee.

I think Marilee is cute, both modern and old fashioned, like Iris. - you could do mary or marie Lee, but I like it run together better.

And, I'm very sorry for you loss,  I think it's nice that you are honoring him this way!

Our daughters are Kimberly Alexandria, and Ruby Rose.  My daughters are my precious gems (Kimberly means diamond).

Kimberly means diamond?    Are you referring to the Kimberly Diamond Mines or the Kimberly Diamond?   I've never heard that diamond is the meaning of the name..  clarify?
