Why does it seem like these days "only children" seem to always be fat?

Almost all minus 1 of my kids friends that are the "only" kids are extremely overweight. Do you think that has something to do with it?
If your offened Im sorry just want others opinions.

It's just bad parenting sometimes imo. Can happen to kids who aren't singles.

My husband was an only child and is skinny. I can't think of a single one of my kids friends who are only children and even a little bit on the heavy side. Most of them are actually closer to being underweight and a few actually are underweight.

I am an only child and I've never been fat a day in my life other than when pregnant

I don't think it has anything to do with being an only child.

It could be in part because they are onlys. Take a sibling pair to the park and they will leave you alone and go play. Take an only to the park and it wants full attention so the park outing becomes less frequent.

My daughter is an only and isn't fat. We're an active & healthy-living family. I'm proud that she's 10 and she's already begging to go with me on my runs.
