EDIT: I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who had positive things to say. I made it through yesterday without any major issues, which was nice. And I am so sorry so many of you have been through this too. HUG!
I was raped. He destroyed my life (what little life I had). But I have overcome it. I am stronger than him. I will not let what he did rule my life. It is part of me but it is not who I am. So today I celebrate 8 years of being a survivor.
I am also starting a new tradition today. Every year I will offer forgiveness to him if he wants it and shows remorse. Whether or not he seeks forgiveness has no bearing on how I feel, but it is part of taking the high road.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you are a survivor or victim in need of help then please see the resources I will post below. And if you are a hater who says I only ever talk about rape or being transgender, shove it. I always make a post on my anniversary.
