Are we just sh** out of luck?

We bought a used 2002 explorer from a used car lot last Friday and everything looked good. Well yesterday it started turning off while driving, and shaking because the rpm is going down to 0 and today it wont start. I have had enough with the car already, when we first got it we checked all the the windows and one wouldn't go back up so they fixed it right there for free.

I called and told them what happened yesterday and they told me that our warranty only covers the inside of the engine and transmission. Everything else is not there problem even 7 days after your purchase it. So are we just out of luck or is there a way we can take it back? I do not want a car that is going to do this to me a WEEK after i bought it.

I realize buying a used car has its risks but i never thought they would lie to us about the warranty. Is there anything i can do that would require them to fix it or for me to return the car? Please i need answers!!!

You are pretty much SOL, unless it turns out to be the engine. Take it to a shop and have them diagnose it. It might be something simple

I believe you have a 30 day window where you can return the car.

Can you prove they lied about the warranty?

Make a public stink.  Go to their facebook page and tell your story.  Write bad reviews online, inform the BBB.  Don't be trashy, but warn other consumers.  They'll be afraid of losing business and probably fix the situation.

Take the car to a shop and have them figure out what is wrong.
