sister wives

I am watching this on Netflix and the husband comes across as he's gods gift to women.

Not sure what I think of this show..

I can't imagine being OK with my husband cheating on me. Lol

I agree.  The wives complain because they dont get treated the same way, and I think they're all jealous of eachother.  Uhhh, did they miss the part about them marrying into a relationship with a man who had multiple women!?  I could never do it.  I'd lose it!

LOL no I'm not. Still I think it would be easier to share my man the my kitchen.

Quoting Jessica_Esqueda:

but youre not a polygamist! lol

Quoting batmansgirl:

I'm in a relationship with just me and my man and I don't share my kitchen. I won't share my kitchen. :)

Quoting Jessica_Esqueda:

Did you see their friends?? The really organized guy with three (?) wives? They were so affectionate and happy. THOSE are people who WANT to be in a plural marriage. These people don't come across that affectionate and harmonious. They can't even share a kitchen for cryin out loud!

Quoting ripemango:

i think they aren't ok w it, but feel like they are sacrificing/putting up w this BS now to ensure a better afterlife

Quoting Anonymous:

I know how they view it. But I still couldn't do it because to me he is cheating and honestly listening to them talk about their jealously I think they are not as OK with it as they claim to be.

Quoting ripemango:

they do not view it as cheating. they never go into it in the show but they believe that by being in a plural marriage, they will be given a better afterlife

They're all just as lame as he is.

All except Robyn are obese. Meri is a selfish brat. Christine is an overgrown child. Robyn just needed a way out of abject poverty. And Janelle? *sigh* She carries so much of the financial burden, both with actually working and with figuring out the bills. She could leave today and be soooo much better off.

I shared a kitchen with my MIL for like 2.5 years. It was hard at first but we quickly got used to each other, and it wasn't so bad.

This. I do like the show but wonder how he could have one wife let alone four. He's not attractive at all IMO. I'm not just speaking of a physical sense either. I just really don't like his personality. But I like the women so I keep watching.

Quoting RichardsMom0209:

I actually really like that show. I think because I could NEVER be in that situation. Its kinda interesting how the whole polygamy family life works out for them.

she does come off as seeming to need to be taken care of

Quoting Jessica_Esqueda:

I agree!! Though Robin seems to want to be there. But of course, she needs someone to take care of her.

Quoting ripemango:

Agreed. I think it is what they believe they MUST do, not what they want to do.

Quoting Jessica_Esqueda:

Thats very possible. They just don't seem happy.

I also feel like theyre constantly tryinh to defend that this is what they want to do. seems like theyre trying to convince themselves.

Quoting ripemango:

i did not see that episode. i think it quite likely though that what we see on tv and how it actually is w/in their home could be vastly different.

After getting a divorce, and i think her ex was abusive, of course she does. She wanted someone to step in and take control of her life. Not to mention she was unable to support her kids on her own.

she comes across as sweet, but not very bright. i hadn't thought about it but her timidness does remind me of some1 who has come from an abusive relationship.

Quoting sampson200:

What I don't understand, and maybe it's zoning laws or something, is - if they have enough money to purchase 4 ajoining properties in Las Vegas, why not purchase those four lots, and build ONE mega-house on that cul-de-sac?

That's what they miss the most, right?

One home again?

So, damn, build one big home and enjoy your life.

Instead they're building 4 ridiculously large homes and then what happens when all the kids move out in 10-15 years?

Quoting rebeccab1966:

I'm fascinated by this show.  It's like driving by an accident on the freeway--you don't WANT to look but you have to.  Most of the wives don't seem very happy, and how the hell can they afford all these houses they're building??

I don't think all of the wives like each other!  I also think some of them seem to REALLY enjoy being famous now, too.  So I think the whole thing is B.S.  But I can't stop watching.
