My 5 year old hates writing, homework, or anything that has anything to with school.
All week we tried to work on his journal (they write in it, sounds they have been working on in class) this weeks journal assignment was to write a make believe story about an animal. I tried again this morning before school and he wouldn't do it, so I wrote a note to his teacher in his journal about why the assignment was not done.
I tried to get him to write a sentence using mainly sight words, and he wouldn't do that either.
He got mad because I wouldn't do it for him.
I have tried rewarding him with pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, candy, or something he wants for when he does his homework or actually tries to do it, and he does the same thing that he always does after a day.
I've tried making him sit at the table until it is done and he just breaks the pencil or scribbles on the page.
I've tried to work with him for 30 mins, and if he doesn't want anything to do with it we come back to it later, and he just sits there crying saying he doesn't want to do it, or can't do it, or what have you.
What can I do to get him to do his work? Any ideas? Does anybody else have a child like this?

He either does his homework or he will not watch any TV, play games, play with any toys at all UNTIL all of his homework is done...PERIOD
You have to be consistent with this and DO NOT do his homework for him ever

Is he having any difficulty doing the work or do you feel it's laziness?

Have you tried seeing if he is learning disabled?
