I hate talking on the phone so it would be fine with me.

If you can text, why can't you pick up the phone and have a 30 second phone call confirming?

I can't because I'm hard of hearing.  Texting is my way of communicating.

It is just a birthday party. I'd be glad someone at least bothered to RSVP.

I don't see what the problem would be. At least you acknowledged the invitation.

No problem in my opinion.

If the invite says "Call or text" I will text. That way they know if we're coming and I did not interrupt their day.

ANY RSVP is acceptable.  I have a party business and I can't tell you how many people just don't, and the hosts have to chase them down so we can have a good number of how many people are attending.
