Hi, if a child under age my DD , was interviewed by a detective without a parent or anyone present do you ladies think that was legal ?

Yes I do they don't interview just for the hell of it. Your DD could have said she didn't want to talk to them without you present. If she did they would not have interviewed her until you arrived.

I think they are supposed to have a parent present.
I know when I was interviewed at 14 my mom had to be there.

Depends on what its for. If its for something like suspected child abuse, I can't imagine that it would be. But if it were something like say... she stole something... then I do believe it would be. Contact an attorney.

So long as she is not suspected of a crime, they can interview her without your presence or permission
