DH is using one, "trying to quit", so I'm trying to be supportive.. But I think they're stupid, and he looks like he's smoking a crack pipe, or something...

ETA- I am incredibly proud of him for making the effort, but it doesn't seem to be doing him any good!

Um....neither trashy nor trendy. I'm confused. They're designed to help people quit smoking and for lots they're a really useful aide.

trashy,  Health Canada has placed warnings on it and no longer allows ecigs to be marketed as a stop smoking aid.

*edit, I was wrong, This is what Health Canada says,

Health Canada

On 27 March 2009, Health Canada issued an advisory against electronic cigarettes. The advisory stated, "Although these electronic smoking products may be marketed as a safer alternative to conventional tobacco products and, in some cases, as an aid to quitting smoking, electronic smoking products may pose risks such as nicotine poisoning and addiction."

I think something, anything that can help someone quit a nasty habit is awesome.

My cousin and his wife are respiratory therapists. They say if you use ecigs for your whole life, it's still better for your health than smoking. There's a lot more than nicotine in cigarette smoke. And the only thing the body craves is nicotine.
