OK so my medical at work is really expensive $500 a month for me and Dh alone. So far I have 1,000.00 in medical bills for my pregnancy. I live in PA so I put dd on chip as its better coverage and only costs $70 a month vs the extra $185 my work wanted to charge for a "family plan". I'm 28 weeks with #2 and she will also go on chip. But here's my question. Last week Dh quit his job. I don't blame him, he had legit reasons. He is currently looking for a new job as we speak, he's not one to sit around. But is it wrong for me to apply for medical for my daughter(s) in the meantime. I only have 11 weeks till my scheduled cesarean and don't wanna screw myself its bad enough while I'm off I have to pay out of pocket for my benefits for me without any income at that time. Is it wrong yo apply for assistance until dh finds another job

Why would it be wrong? You obviously need the help.

No it's not wrong but PA sucks. My husband ran a rig there for a year. Your husband could get an oilfield job in a minute, but no one there would work and they complained about my husband working bringing money to their state.
And he paid taxes but couldn't get anything back cause he's not a resident!

I'm not sure if you're allowed to do that, since you already have insurance available...I ended up with $2600 in medical bills after I had my son :(
That's what I wasn't sure about but CHIP goes through medical assurance to get it. Like if you make too much for medical they send you to chip
