How old should girls be able to wear...

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
thongs? My aunt let my 12 yo cousin wear them . I won't buy them for my girls . (they are 12&14) ETA: I would buy them if they had to wear something that may show their panty lines for an occasion . They wear jeans& khaki . They don't need no thongs...

I started wearing them at 13. I believe that's about the time they start hitting puberty & they kinda want to be grown up. Start wearing make up, start to be more interested in boys. Honestly, I think it's a little young to start at 12 to wear thongs. Maybe like high school. I regret wearing them. I stopped wearing them so long ago. They're so uncomfortable! I think that wearing one is mainly to get your man's attention. But that's only my opinion.

Depends on their age and  pants they are wearing.

when they can pay for them themself, i agree if it were something that would show a panty line and it were a special event that would be fine

you can get the same look with nylon full briefs, no need for "butt floss"

I'd say 15 or 16
It's not always about being "sexy" sometimes it's about slim no panty lines.

Thongs are trashy imo. What happened to wearing a slip?

Our oldest was around 15 and because she was in marching band in high school (the flag line), her specific uniform required no panty lines.

It wasn't a big deal for us to let her do this. We had one requirement--absolutely NO low riding jeans where the thong was sticking out. It looks tacky on a young girl or grown woman.

Our youngest daughter has no current desire to wear thong underwear and has said (quote), "We spend time trying to pull out the wedgie. Why would we buy underwear that feels like a wedgie?" lol

One day she may change her mind.

It's panties not a teddy. Lol
I don't see the issue but that just my opinion.

i think around 12 is fine if they are for the purpose of wearing under a skirt that may show panty lines. Kids can be ruthless with teasing about things like panty-lines. my mom got me 2 thongs when i was about 13, 1 white, 1 black. nothing fancy or frills, just plain cotton ones. they were to have to wear under my skirts or dresses we had school choir concerts and things like that.

Exactly. I'm not buying that crap for my daughter, especially when I don't wear them myself.

Old enough to buy them for themselves.
