if she can start using tampons? She started having periods over the summer so only for about six months. She will be 13 next month. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with her using tampons yet. I didn't use tampons until I was like 16 or 17. When did you and what do you think is a good age to start?
Edit ~ Thank you everyone for your advice. I've talked with my daughter and it turned out she only wanted to use a tampon b/c she was planning on spending the night at her friends house. Her period actually ended before the sleepover so it wasn't a big deal. I did tell her that if she still wants to use them from here out, I would get them for her. We talked about how to insert, how long to wear and all that good stuff. Right now she is fine with pads but said that by summer she wants to switch over. All is fine with me.
It's a big responsibility. I started using them at 13/14
What does being a virgin have to do with tampons? LMAO

So wait is she not virgin anymore? What kinda mother are you?
There's this really big part of me that wants to say that if SHE is comfortable using them or at least trying to, let her. It is her body and her comfort level.
However, there is also that part of me that understands your reservations on it.
Our oldest Dd didn't start using them until she was about 17 and simply by her choice. Our youngest daughter now 15 and does not want to use them at all at this time.
What does this have to do with anything?
