I haven't seen this post yet for the year and its always entertaining.  So should people who are on PA get tax refunds or should it be used to pay back what they've used?  Go!

It would be nice if it went back to what they have used... But also, the refund they could get may help them get on their feet (caught up on bills etc.) So, Im torn..

No, In Canada if you are on any form of assistance you don't get a tax return. How can you can you get taxes back when you never paid taxes in the first place?

I think you should not get more than you pay and the dollar amount of aid should be claimed on the taxes. Like say you receive 400 housing assistance and 500 in fs a month the yearly total should have to be claimed.

It could but it seems like most use it for a new flatscreen, furniture, expensive vacations, and other stuff.  It's play money basically.

Yes, in a consumer-driven society such as ours, it makes sense.

Normally taxes are taken out of a persons check. Yes people can work and collect PA at the same time.
