do you ever cut your kids off on food?

My 6 year old is 72lbs and can eat and eat and eat. I hate to cut him off but I know he isn't hungry when he has eaten more than me. I encourage him to eat veggies. He eats tons of fruit. He will eat 7-8 pieces of fruit a day. What should I do?

Yes, they don't need to eat until they are so stuffed they sleep or don't move. It is portion control and my children will learn it

a lot of people think fruit is healthy...  it is, but not in excess.   Fruits are high in sugar.   You can find fruits that are lower in sugar...  Rasperries are your best, and blackberries... mulberries, othere sorts of berries like strawberries...

But bananas and citrus are high in sugar, in fact, most bananas (unless really small) are TWO servings each, not just one because of how much starch and sugar they have.

yep, my kids are learning portion control, if they are still hungry they can eat all the raw veggies they want to "fill up" if need be.

I'm dealing with the opposite problem right now. I can't get my 5 year old to eat enough. She took a few bites of dinner and said she was full. She has never gotten above 35 pounds.
