Transition to a toddler bed

So my 18 month old recently learned how to climb out of his crib so I decided to ditch the crib and get a toddler bed. This is his third night sleeping in his big boy bed and he is doing amazing! Every night at 7:30 I go lay him down and at 8 when I go to check on him he was snoozing. Nap time is a little more difficult but he's getting better! I thought this would be much more difficult. Does anyone have any advise on making it easier for him to take naps? Or if anyone just wants to share stories good or bad of switching to a toddler bed, go ahead!

1) room darkening shade/curtain

2) white noise such as a fan to circulate the air and/or soft lullabye music to lull him to sleep

3) infant/toddler massage with lavender lotion

4) routine, routine, routine

5) schedule

6) give him something you have worn so he has Mommy scent for comfort (2nd bout of separation anxiety starts at 18 months)

7) a lovey
