Pay to go get it? You can still obtain one the same way that you would if you needed one.

You go buy it from the hall of records. You don't get a free one.

Call the health dept in the county your child was born.  I ordered ours online.  If its a newborn could take a little bit.

Go to the health department and buy a copy. They don't send a free copy anymore in my state, I had to go purchase one.

After you have a child? They don't mail them here, you have to go and get one from Vital Statistics in 2 weeks.

Call your local court house and obtain one from there. You can order online as well and if you live in IL you can go to a currency exchange and get a copy there as well.

They don't send them in WA. You have to go down to the health dept, apply for and pay for them.
