Bill Cosby says he is NOT African American...interesting read....

Posted by   + Show Post
This is actually word for word what he said to a gathering of students who asked about the bailout in America Great response...

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.'

I can't even talk the way these people talk:

Why you ain't,?

Where you is,?

What he drive,?

Where he stay,?

Where he work,?

Who you be...?

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth

In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.

$500 sneakers for what??

And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2

Where were you when he was 12?

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?

And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward:?

Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something???

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from?

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa.

I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid.

I was born here, and so were my parents and grand parents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany, Scotland, England, Ireland, or the Netherlands?. The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa.

So stop, already! ! !

With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap .....

and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job.

Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.'

O of course! They feed off of stuff like this. This is so past race at this point like you said it is about culture. To me it is also about parenting and available resources. I wish that lower income families could afford tutors and after school programs to avoid children having extra time on their hands to get into mischief. The problems are so deep and pointing fingers at one race will never solve them.

Quoting lyork1:

I don't know. I guess some people just like the chance to point the finger at one group of people. Bill's remarks just make it very easy for them to do so and feel ok about it, but the truth is its not a racial thing.  I really believe it is cultural and socioeconomic thing that is present in segments of all races to some degree. JMO

Quoting LaceNBklyn:

It was so obvious lol. Its funny how someone can be mad because I say all races need improvement.

Quoting lyork1:

She is just saying whatever she can to piss you off at this point.  She just can't stand for you to have a different opinion than her lol.

Quoting LaceNBklyn:

If this is the best you can come up with you are a fool. I called white girls air heads and black girls hood rats. Did that offend you that I called black girls hood rats? No it did not. And you miss the point DONT TALK SHIT ABOUT ONE RACE WHEN ALL RACES ARE FUCKED UP! Should I just say yes blacks we need to do better when all races need to do better? Are you goin to sue me for speaking MY OPINION ON ALL RACES? Lol its okay for him to speak on one race but when someone else speaks on all thats when it becomes an issue.

Quoting Anonymous:

Are you going to sue Bill for only speaking about black people. Because it isn't fair is it? This country should be fair for every one across the board. Nobody should be able to speak their mind the way they want, because it may hurt someones feelers. And why do you have to refer to white females as being airheads? Racist much? You have a big problem with this, because I personally believe you are racist. JMO.

Quoting LaceNBklyn:

Lol its funny and cute, I know a lot of people love this because it only targets one race. But I'm going to be blunt for a minute. I have seen black girls walk around like "hood rats" smacking their lips and talking "like dis an like dat". I have seen white girls acting like air heads "like o my gosh like really" and trailer trash white girls. I have seen black boys stand on the corner and sell weed. I have seen white and mexican boys skip school everyday to get high at home, and snort dope and sniff inhalants. i have seen latino girls with 5 children by the age of 23 and pony tails higher then the Eiffel tower. I have seen Latino boys, white boys and black boys were pants that are falling off their ass. Saw some white girls with tans darker then a chocolate cookie and black girls with busted weaves. In the prisons every race is there. Im the welfare office every race is there, in the GED center every race is there. I can go ONNNN but my point is made. You cant point the finger at one if no one is perfect. Every race has people who make then feel ashamed to be the same race. But whats that saying? Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

You're a little late in posting,  Cosby said most of this on May 17th 2004 at a NAACP 50th anniversary event, NOT at a gathering of students discussing the bailout.

Where ever you found your version of his speech, it's been exaggerated, AKA, has been added to, as have many other versions of his original speech in the last 9 years.

I have a question that is not supposed to be offensive. I just want to know...
Ok so let's say Mark is "African American" and his great great grandfather was born in Africa. Why I he called "African American" but Patrick whose great great grandfather is from Ireland isn't called "Irish American"?

Wouldn't it be more of a "win" if everyone is just considered "American"?

Quoting Anonymous:

How is it a fail? The term has nothing to do with political correctness for one. And two, the term has now been included on the US Census. Sounds more like a win than a lose

Bill should also mention the fact that he cheated on his wife and fathered a child with his lover. He's not looking too good himself.

Quoting momto2boys973:

I agree. He's an AMERICAN and that's that. The term "African American" was a sorry attempt at PCness. And it's a fail.

He's not putting down AA people. He's putting down those that don't speak proper English and act stupid. I'm pretty darn sure those in Africa would be appalled if they saw their people acting and talking like that.

Quoting JakesMom712:

One of who?

I am a college educated, proud AFRICAN AMERICAN female. Is that the "them" you're referring to?

And yes, Bill's words do offend me. The fact that he needs to act like he has all the answers, condemn and put down AA, for what? To stay relevant? And I say baby mama because I'm not talking about Camille.

Quoting Anonymous:

So I'm guessing this applies to you and you take offense? "He need to go sit down somewhere and stfu. Worry about his own baby mama." Yep, you are one of them.

Quoting JakesMom712:

Omg. I was team bill for a good while. But seriously, he need to go sit down somewhere and stfu. Worry about his own baby mama.
