nope! a guy we knew had 4 dui's within a year and was still able to some how have a license. then on dh's best friends 21st bday..they all went out to the bars, this drunken douche decided to drive the bday boy home. wrecked his car in a single car accident a put dh's bf into a coma. died a week later and all this guy got was a year in jail. here he is free, living life, getting married, still going out drinking like nothing ever happened. 

i have no faith in the justice system


ETA- he is a white guy from a somewhat wealthy family.

is it perfect? No. Overall i think there are enough checks and balances to make everything work. Appeals etc. Bad people get involved in it and do bad things but that happens in all aspects of life.

casey anthony couldnt be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...the jury made the right decision. Do i think she was guilty as hell...yea but the system is set up to where an innocent person in her circumstances wouldnt be wrongly convicted.

No.

As a white woman, I can get away with almost anything.

Were I a criminal, that would be tea and biscuits.  But since I'm not, and I see women get off from so much that men, and women who are not white get nailed on, I am disgusted.

That's not the only disparity.  But it's one I feel like we are seeing a lot more of.
