Does vulgar language show a lack of intelligence? EDIT, one more question...

 My grandmother always says that the main reason some people swear is because their vocabulary is not advanced enough to come up with an intelligent thought and express it clearly.

What are your thoughts?

EDIT: Just curious, do you also swear in your home? In front of your children? *TO* your children? "Clean your damn room" etc??

But really, no. I don't think that's correct. Some of the smartest people I've met say fuck on a daily basis. Intelligent people aren't immune to cursing.

I don't think swearing has to do with intellegence.  I never used to swear and then I got a job in a male dominated field and was mocked for not swearing.  I was around it so much that it became part of my vocabulary. I now I swear, probably daily, at least weekly.  I didn't lose my intellect, I just expanded my vocabulary.

Ehhh lol I curse like a sailor... My BA is in English and I have a masters degree in something else. I blame my jersey roots for my language choice lol.
