Is it okay to fall in love with a best friend?

I think it's happening. We started talking everyday for the past few weeks and its starting to get serious. I'm afraid to lose him if it doesn't work out romantically. We've known each other over 10 years and get along so well. We've talked about it too and are both afraid to lose a great friendship but we both acknowledge something's been going on between us. He told me I am the only person he has felt that he could marry (not anytime soon though!). We're both 27 if that makes a difference. Thanks for any insight!

This but I would definitely say take it slowly so ya don't screw up anything and you can stay friends if it doesn't work out.

I fell in love with my best friend. We have been married for five and half years now.

I fell in love with my best friend.

We had been friends for years, even long before my first marriage ended. After a while things began to change and we began to see each other differently.

We have been together for 13 years, married 10. He is still my best friend & there is still no person, next to my kids, that I would rather spend time with.

Oh, and we are almost 15 years apart. I turned 38 in December & he is 52 (53 in July).

Go for it!  DH and I were good friends ( and roommates) for almost 2 years before we started dating.  We have now been married for over 8 years!!!

Give it a try and agree to remain friends if it does not work.
