My kitty died on my sons birthday:(

Posted by   + Show Post
Its my sons eleventh birthday. We have had our cat for seven and a half years and she was just the best cat of all time. She has been sick with a cold for a couple of weeks. We got home from picking our birthday boy from school and found her dead in the yard. I feel horrible our baby has to forever remember that his cat died on his birthday. Please pray for him. He is taking it hard. I am too but I am holding it in for when they go to sleep. I miss my kitty. Rip Cinnamon.

He is doing pretty well. He cried for a while and is in his room now. I think he is taking it as well as can be expected.

Quoting KeriAZ:

Thank u. How is ur son doing?

Quoting celestegood:

They really are like kids. I am so sorry for your loss.

Quoting KeriAZ:

Oh I understand that they are more then pets. They are like our children. I lost my 8 yr old GSD 13 months ago and I still cry. I miss him a lot.

Quoting celestegood:

Thanks for the hugs. I know she was just a cat but we loved her. I am so sad she died on his special day.

Quoting KeriAZ:

Awe. I'm so sorry to hear that. How horrible for it to happen on his Bray. Hugs

Aw...losing a pet is very hard. So sorry it happened on your son's birthday. This might sound stupid, but maybe you could have a little funeral for the cat to help with the grieving and letting go process. Symbolic things like that can really help kids move forward.

We took her when she first got sick. Se had this a few years ago and was fine. They said that she had a cold. She lost weight and was having to pull to breathe. We took her back and they thought she had pneumonia and we got medication for her. She seemed to be getting better and eating and then she died. I have no idea how she got out. She was indoor out door so I guess my teenager let her out.

Did you take the cat to the vet or just assumed it was okay

I'm so sorry. Bless your hearts. I will certainly be keeping your sweet boy in my prayers, and you, I know how much a part of your family and heart a pet gets to be.
