No. She was almost two on the road trip (move), so she ate with us and snacked in her carseat with her sippy cup.

The shorter trips (4 hours), she normally slept the entire time. Sometimes we'd make one stop to change a diaper and such.

No, but my sister was getting ready to do just that when they were involved in a bad accident. If the baby hadn't been safely strapped, he would have been crushed.

My mom did that too. I do it on occasion even though there is nothing there. Lol.

The ladies will be aghast at this! However, I'm old enough to remember when there were no seatbelts in cars and babies were put in basket-like beds that hung over the seat. I remember my mom throwing her arm in front of me (yes I rode in the front seat!) when she had to stop really quickly.

Quoting wooly:

When they were infants no but when they got bigger we took the back seat out of the van and after we got going on the highway we turned them loose to get in the back and play with their toys. This was before the day of built in DVD players.

Play what? You can't honestly have thought I was really Sharon Osbourne did you?

Quoting Anonymous:

Eh, so what! Momma don't like to play.....boo.

Quoting s.osborne:

Yeah no....they spell their name Osbourne. With a "U"

Quoting Anonymous:

Ozzy's wife!

Quoting s.osborne:

Who is Sharon?

Quoting Anonymous:

SHARON!!

Quoting s.osborne:

Yes. I even sat in the back seat and held him to pat/rock him to sleep because he was completely inconsolable and screeching.

I did but I was so nervous. OMG. It's terrifying to think that he would just be smashed if we got into an accident. And Dh was too nervous to drive. So I had to do the boob over him thing while he was strapped in.

I left during his naptime so he slept a few hours. Lol.

We pull over at the nearest exit and deal with it.
