Monday we were at the dog park with one of our neighbors. I was in the dog park with her, and the dogs. DH was at the nearby playground with the kids. DD is almost 4, DS is 18 months. DS was sitting on a picnic table, and he fell and hit his face right on the concrete. DH had just looked up at DD, it happened so fast!
He ran him over to me and I could immediately see it would need stitches. So my husband ran the half mile home to go get the car. He also grabbed one of our neighbors so he could walk the dogs back home. In the 5 minutes that have passed, DS isn't even crying anymore. He's smiling!
We drop DD off at her friend's house and head to the ER. This pic is on the way there. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, he got 5 stitches and they sent us home. I think the getting stitches part was worse than the fall! I literally had to lay my body over him to keep him still while DH held his head.
Poor baby! Didn't slow him down a bit. He's still just as daring! While we were waiting he was laughing and playing like nothing ever happened. He got a little cranky because it was past dinner time and past bedtime, but other than that he was a trooper!
I've always said since he started walking that he was going to need stitches one day. He's very daring and somewhat accident prone. I just didn't think he would need them at 18 months! Sigh.
Oh, and Monday was my anniversary! Lol.
