What is poor to you?

Ladies what is your definition of poor or when do you know what you are poor?

Just because there are other countries where people have it much worse does not mean people in Anerica cannot be poor or live in poverty.

Not everyone on pa is poor. I don't use that as a barometer. Poor... Unable to consistently provide basic necessities.

Do you think the homeless families who live in card board boxes are not poor?

Going hungry so your child can eat... Worrying about how you're going to keep a roof over your head. Hoping the local church does another coat drive this winter and someone will donate one your child can fit into. Et cetera.

I grew up without electricity, heat, running water, and regular meals. I ate a small meal once a day, if I was lucky. I didn't wear shoes in the summer because I had to save them for winter. I know families who live in shacks with their kids huddled on a bare mattress for warmth and have no idea where their next meal is coming from. This is in America. I know what poor is. Not everyone in America lives a middle class life style with smart phones and all of their needs at their fingertips.

Oh i forgot to add that my family qualifies for wic.
And I'm a sahm.
And i have so much canned food in my cabinets,and frozen foods in my freezer just in case.

We have a car and a truck, newer models, we rent our house. We have one soon, no pets, and we can Afford to do fun things in the area that cost money like water parks, zoo, sea world, and take three vacations a year. All this on way less than $50k a year!
