Does anyone use a flip-flop for spanking? *NOT A SPANKING DEBATE*

I'm an older mom and my arthritis is getting to the point that I cannot spank.  My DD tried to turn the stove on again today while I BF my  youngest.  I've never spanked with an object at this point, but I've heard that a flip-flop is the gentlest choice and does not leave marks.

Please don't turn this into a debate.  This post is for parents who spank only.  If you do not spank please move along.  Please ignore replies made by people trying to turn this into a debate.

Lol! My dad broke a 1x4 on my sister once. She just laughed at him. It was already cracked pretty good and too big for him to get much leverage.

I grew up getting whooped with a belt , hair brush , wooden spoon , a switch , and flip flops. However spanking a child with an object is considered abuse , perhaps you can get the point across another way ?

DH travels a lot for work.  We are a "Reasonable Force" state.

Parenting classes. Unless your spanking with your hand. Using objects to disipline your children is abuse.

I never used an object.  In fact, I only ever had to spank my kids once or twice.  

My parents spanked us with a wooden spoon.  I would think a flip flop would be gentler than that.
