Does anyone use a flip-flop for spanking? *NOT A SPANKING DEBATE*

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I'm an older mom and my arthritis is getting to the point that I cannot spank.  My DD tried to turn the stove on again today while I BF my  youngest.  I've never spanked with an object at this point, but I've heard that a flip-flop is the gentlest choice and does not leave marks.

Please don't turn this into a debate.  This post is for parents who spank only.  If you do not spank please move along.  Please ignore replies made by people trying to turn this into a debate.

Why not take the knobs off of the stove when you aren't cooking???

How about just teaching her that she shouldn't touch the stove at all? Or put up a gate? Or how about I beat you with something to see what feels right? I think that's a great idea! A little swat on the booty to get their attention is no big deal to me but objects? No.

I would use a spoon over a flip flop.

I don't know but can anyone tell me how long I can leave my toddler duct taped to the wall? I mean, I can't afford a gate so yeah, is there a legal time limit?

Yeah that would be to easy, what happened to don't touch shit? I would never change things around for my kids...they had to learn.

The only time i have hit ds with an object is if he hit me or another with that object first. Like the little girl he hit in the head with a toy truck at the park. I hit him right back in the same spot he hit her so he could know how it feels - he never hit with toys again. Anywho, never a flip flop. My mother used to use the wooden spoons an plastic brushes. Stung like a SOB.

Dh used to get hit with the "chanclas" as he calls them - the house slippers - and electrical wires all the time. He said the slippers wernt that bad. Unless it was on straight skin it didnt even hurt.
