If it makes you feel better, the numbers for 2012 were $47,162 for married with two children.

Quoting Anonymous: yes because we are poor and don't qualify for it.. We made 48,870 and the cut off was ($48.378 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children. ARE you kidding me...... UGHHHH

Here too!

Quoting Lydlou02:

Not necessarily. Those are federal numbers that don't take into account the cost of living in your area. We're quite comfortable with three kids, but still qualify for that particular credit.

No----- where I live the cost of living is very low so even with 4 kids and a combined income of 45000 a year we do very well.

No. Because we qualify for EIC and we are far from poor or struggling.

I can't believe how many people say yes.  I just barely qualify (around $42k with 2 kids) and we are in no way struggling.  We're not as comfortable as we were before hubby went to grad school full time, but I do not consider us poor.

By who's standards????
I have a Family of 6 and a yearly income of 45000 we are not in debt have health coverage through dhs job own 2 nice vehicles that are paid in full and will be buying our first home next year with cash from our savings. Our children are well clothed and very well feed.

We consider ourselves better off then someone with 100000 a year income and heavily in debt.

Quoting Anonymous:
