A Republican lawmaker in NM introduced a bills stating that a pregnancy resulting from rape cannot be terminated as it is 'evidence' of the rape. If the woman chooses to terminate, she is tampering with evidence and could face 3 years in prison as it would be a third degree felony to tamper with evidence of a crime.

The lawmaker believes this will make women safer.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking, if it's that important, have a DNA analysis of the tissues from the abortion to prove your case. This is completely against everything we have fought for.

Use the morning after pill. They can't call that tampering any more than taking a shower is tampering. *eyeroll* What dumbasses. I think a common sense test should be required for anyone who wants to go into office.

I don't agree with abortion, so you probably won't like what I have to say about this...

Oh how silly, everyone knows you can't get pregnant if you're raped! We have rape sperm repelling vagina voodoo!

Interesting position. I don't think it's gonna stick, you can't legally force a woman to continue a pregnancy. But if he's so determined to do so, then the state should cover all medical and psychological expenses resulting from that pregnancy, not to mention fully support that child if the victim keeps it until he/she turns 18, wouldn't you say?
