How do you motivate kids who just DONT CARE about school/grades at all? Those are the ones I don't know what to do with...

Start giving service jobs. When they start feeling positive about doing for others, then their self esteem rises and they MIGHT start caring about themselves.

I'm with Brittany.  And, I'm having such a hard first year of teaching, and there are days when I feel like I'm ineffective, and I wonder what I'm doing teaching.  How did you deal with those days, and what advice do you have for new teachers?  :)

Try to take extra time with them and let them know you care. It's amazing how much knowing someone cares can do to motivate a young child. Or see if another approach to learning helps.

Do you think ADHD is over-diagnosed and it is mostly behavioral problems due to bad parenting?
