Just attention whorin'...
Anyone else donate to Locks of Love? Have pictures?

I've tried to convince myself to do it again. I'm about halfway there right now. Long hair drives me up a wall though. How I survived the 80s hauling it around I have no idea!
Quoting honeyrder:Cool! I have done it five times now for LOL, since my daughter was a baby. My hair had to be separated into eight ponytails the first time because there was so much of it. lol
Quoting pampire:I've hair farmed two pony tails for the Pantene version of LoL. (They only require 8 inches.)
Great! The 10 inch minimum allows for some damage, though.
Quoting marinenonstop:
Getting mine cut next month and im donating it. Its down to my waist right now. I'm doing some home deep conditioning treatments to repair the bottom so they can use most of it. Right now it looks awesome..way less damage then before.

Thanks, my darlin'!
Quoting camsmami:
Beautiful as always!

You should have seen mine in the 90's! I look at pictures now and think WOW! I'll have to find one, take a picture of a picture and post it in WB. I had some HAIR before the first time I ever cut it.

Bummer.
Quoting calvinsmommy18:it gets damaged so easily...no matter what I do, I usually get about 4-6 inches cut off every year or so because its so thin and I cant stand it...
Quoting honeyrder:
You just can't stand it long?
Quoting calvinsmommy18:
Never donated my cut hair. Never grows long enough to get that much cut off.

My hair is so straight! It is long enough to donate, but I put in highlights after I had my ds so I would have wait until it grows out.

Quoting honeyrder:They offered to straighten it for me after I got it cut, but I'm used to curls. I think I'd be in the mirror all night if I'd done it instead of talking to folks about it. Trippin'. lol
Quoting TeamTARDIS:Wow good job! I am jealous of your curly hair!
Too easy! Ten inches isn't as much as many think. You have it! You are very cute, btw. And a DW fan too?

I didn't donate to Locks of Love, but I shaved my head and gave my hair to be made for a particular little girl. She was always in love with my hair, was always petting it and saying, "I wish I had pretty red hair." When she started chemo, I shaved my head and someone else paid to have my hair made into a wig for her. 3 years later, she's in remission, but still wears the wig.
Beautiful. The instructor who cut my hair did stress to the students that they could specify the person they wanted the hair to go to. I didn't know that.
