ETA::::Thanks for the responses. All I have around me, are families with a lot of family support and they get date nights regularly. We do not:( So planning is very important.  I see most of you are in the same boat! Misery loves company I guess!! hehehehe

What is this "date night" of which you speak?

We go out to dinner somewhere nice and maybe a movie every few months while a family member watches the kiddo. Usually date nights are our anniversary, occasionally valentines, and his birthday. If we want a date night in between those we ask a family member to sit for us and go.

My teenager babysits.  Not always happily, but if she wants any fun money, she will.  We used to go once every other week, but with competitions right now, we will be lucky to get in one a month until April.  We usually do dinner and a movie - if there is nothing we want to see we'll just do dinner.

We either stay in our town or go about 45 miles away to a bigger town

If we are just in our town, out 13 yr old babysits, if we go out of town a friend watches them

We have 4 teens so we go out a few times a month now. When they we younger, we'd just do date night at home.

Go for motorcycle rides or if it's cold we take one of the race cars, then usually sushi!

Well, I did eat like 4 dates last night. That's about as close to a 'date night' as I've had in a long while. LOL
